The Prombron Armored Car (ex-Russo-Baltique) was born in Riga in 1908. Dartz manufactured the car under the Russo-Baltique brand Russo-Balt in Riga, at RBVZ - Russko Blatiyskiy Vagonnij Zavod.
by 1914 Russo Baltique had made 300 cars. Considering that Alfa-Romeo had only made 205 cars, Audi 216 cars, Bugatti 150 and Mercedes even less, Russo-Balt was the real European automotive industry leader at the begining of twentieth century. There were a total of approximately 625 cars produced.
But most legendary was the Russo-Balt С-24/58 sportscar with a 5-liter engine which reached speeds of 130 km/per hour.
