1931 advertising booklet for the 12 Six Peugot.
David Levine started collecting travel ephemera in 1992 while he was on his way to Prague, Czech Republic, where he lived from 1992 to 1994.
He had stopped in London on his way to Prague and one day in London he visited the famous British Museum. Afterwards, he wandered down Museum Street, just south of the museum, and stumbled on an Antiquarian book store. In this store he notice a small brochure, which he would later learn was called "ephemera."
Featured here is just a small sampling of his collection (naturally related to cars) but his collection is wide ranging.
His virtual online gallery was created to display and share the best items in his collection of 1920s and 1930s travel-related ephemera. Everything on his website is original. The material is not reproductions.
All images are from the collection of David Levine.
