More than 16 years ago, what began as a hobby by one of the Khouri brothers, became the start of a most exciting adventure taking the whole Khouri family to new heights around the world, and involved them with some truly amazing people in a business that has turned out to be extraordinary in its size, amazing in its achievements and breathtaking in its future.
Bufori is a modern brand of rare automobiles resembling 1930s coupes. The company is owned by Australian brothers Anthony, George and Gerry Khouri. In 1986, Gerry Khouri began work on a hobby, the simple aim of which was to build three special sports cars, one each for the three brothers. Out of this hobby emerged Bufori Motor Car Company.
From very humble beginnings, "The Bufori Motor Car Company" has evolved and developed into a highly reputable and prestigious manufacturer of exotic hand made sports cars. It has attracted the attention of international editorial press and electronic media, as well as the richest buyers who are lovers of fine quality automobiles, across some 40 countries.
From its roots in Australia, Bufori became the only company producing motor vehicles to be licensed by the Advance Australia Council to carry the "Australian Made Logo".
The Bufori production facilities have since moved to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia operating through the entity, The Bufori Motor Car Company (M) Sdn. Bhd., a proprietary company limited by shares and registered in Malaysia on the 29th of July 1997.
In May 1999, the company was granted a Motor Vehicle manufacturing license, followed shortly with all other necessary licenses and approvals as well as qualifying for pioneer status together with all associated benefits.
The Bufori Motor Car Company has evolved and developed into a reputable manufacturer of exotic handmade sports cars. Bufori has produced two models to date: The MK II roadster and the MK III coupe. Each vehicle is fully customizable with a base price of US$110,000.
The Bufori Motor Car Company Pty. Ltd. is a proprietary company limited by shares and registered in Australia as is the Bufori Motor Car Company (M) Sdn. Bhd. is in Malaysia. Originally, all of the manufacturing and sales operations were conducted in Australia. However, as of January 1998 the full production of the Bufori range of sports cars is carried out at the new facilities at Kepong, a suburb of Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia.
