Swift Ten: Light Car poster. In the mid 1800s Swift began making sewing machines; then in 1860, bicycles. In 1909 a 7 hp single-cylinder car was introduced, which was also sold by Austin as the first Austin Seven. In 1914 Swift started to produce aircraft engines. Announced in 1929, the shortlived "Swift Ten" was produced. This charming Art Deco poster would originally have been used to publicise the Swift in dealers' showrooms circa 1930. The two women were known as "Flappers" an endearing term used to describe young women. (available at Art Of Motoring)
