Manufacturing.
Opel/Vauxhall manufacturing and assembly operations are located in Germany, United Kingdom, Belgium, Poland, Portugal and Spain. Saab Automobile AB manufacturing operations are located in Sweden.
Technical Development.
The lead sources of technical development, engineering and design are located in Rüsselsheim (Germany) for Opel/Vauxhall products, in Millbrook (England) for recreational and light commercial vehicles and in Trollhättan (Sweden) for the Saab brand.
2000 Sales and Market Penetration.
Total GME new vehicle sales (passenger cars and light commercial vehicles) totaled nearly 1.8 million units, achieving a market share of 9.8 percent in Western and Central Europe.
Employment (as of Dec. 31, 2001).
General Motors Europe directly employs some 73,000 people.
