Peugeot has chosen European Mobility Week to launch a new Internet car-sharing application on the Facebook social networking web site.
This application, developed in English, will be accessible via the Facebook search engine by typing "EcoSharing". It will encourage Facebook members to adopt an eco-citizen approach, giving each person the opportunity to get in touch with others with car sharing suggestions: offering seats in their own car or looking for available space for defined journeys.
Thus, in a very user-friendly manner, a net surfer who wants to offer to share his or her car will specify the number of seats available, the chosen journey, and the dates and times of the trips. Conversely, the net surfer seeking a seat in a car can get in direct contact with the Facebooker who is suggesting the corresponding journey.
The development of this Ecosharing by Peugeot application forms part of the Blue Lion approach begun by Peugeot, continuing the Marque’s long-established dynamic to integrate the car in the environment and to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
