We spend a considerable amount of time here at Cartype documenting typography on cars, most notably, car emblems and logos. There is almost an endless list of stunningly striking typography, mostly from the past, these emblems exude craftsmanship which equals the engineering and design of the vehicles they are placed on.
Below is just a small (visual) list, arranged by brand of some of the ones we've found so far, but if you're up for a true feast, spend some time on the rest of this site to see even more.

1973 Ferrari Dino GT 246 emblem. Produced from 1969 to 1974, The Dino brand was meant to be used for cars with engines that had fewer than 12 cylinders. The name "Dino" honors the founder's late son, Alfredo "Dino" Ferrari, who was credited with the design of the V6 engine.
After four show cars based on the 410 and 400 SuperAmerica chassis, the name had born the name Superfast, Ferrari unveiled the production version in 1964, the 500 Superfast. Powered by a 400 bhp, five litre V12. Its aerodynamic shape was a natural development of the 400 SuperAmerica it replaced, but it no longer featured covered headlights and partly covered rear wheels. Production lasted until 1966, in which only 37 examples were produced. The Superfast was the last in a great line of luxury GTs.

Lamborghini Espada emblem. The Lamborghini Espada is a grand tourer built between 1968 and 1978. The car was designed by Marcello Gandini of Bertone. The name "Espada" means "sword" in Spanish, referring to the sword that bullfighters use to kill the bulls.
1968 Lamborghini Islero emblem. The Lamborghini Islero was produced between 1968 and 1969. The car debuted at the 1968 Geneva Auto Show. It was named after a Miura bull that killed famed matador Manuel Rodriguez "Manolete" on August 28, 1947. (photo © S. Morliere).

Lancia Stratos logotype. The Betone designed Stratos was built for one purpose, to win the World Rally Championship. Two prototype versions of the Stratos were shown, one during the 1970 Turin Motor Show and another a year later. The road going versions of this car was built only to satisfy the homologation rules.

Maserati Indy 4700 emblem. Named to celebrate Maserati's two victories at the Indy 500, the Maserati Indy first appeared in 1968, at the Salon dell'Automobile di Torino as a prototype by Carrozzeria Vignale. Produced from 1969-1974.
Maserati Ghibli SS emblem. The Maserati Ghibli SS Spider and Maserati Ghibli SS was produced from 1970 to 1973.
Maserati Khamsin emblem. The Maserati Khamsin (named after the Khamsin, a hot, violent wind in the Egyptian desert) was a sports car introduced as Bertone protype in 1972 Turin Motorshow. Produced from 1974-1982.

Mercedes-Benz Diesel front grill emblem from a 1938 l6500 Pritschenwagen. In 1935, Mercedes-Benz put the Gaggenau-built L6500 platform heavy-duty truck on the market. It was equipped with a powerful six-cylinder diesel engine and specially designed for long-haul transportation work. The three-axle version with a payload capacity of ten tons was sold as the L10000.
