VL Automotive, based ot of Detroit Michigan, was born out of a relationship between investor Gilbert Villereal and former General Motors Vice Chairman Bob Lutz.

Their plan is to buy Fisker Karma "gliders" (without a drivetrain) and replace it with the 638 hp supercharged V8 from a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.

The four-door Destino debuted at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
