It will make your heart race, whether you’re on the track or not. The 2013 Grand Sport coupe is the only luxury sports car in its class to boast 0–60 mph under four seconds, 1g cornering capability and an impressive 26 MPG highway† fuel economy for an unmatched combination of performance and efficiency.
Grand Sport is inspired by racing, which means you feel as close to the track behind the wheel no matter where you’re driving. That performance DNA runs through every inch of Grand Sport, pulling performance from the track-ready Z06 and combining them with street-ready features like its removable roof panel, and available automatic transmission.
Celebrate 60 Years of Corvette.
To mark this milestone in the Corvette story, the available Corvette 60th Anniversary Design Package will be available on all 2013 Corvette models. The stripes run the full length of the vehicle, including the interior. The package also includes gray-painted brake calipers, a ZR1 rear spoiler and 60th Anniversary badging on the wheel center caps, steering wheel and seat head restraints to give a finishing touch to this sleek and distinctive appearance.
A fuel efficiency of 26 MPG highway† paired with performance capability that reaches 0–60 mph in under four seconds, 1g-force cornering and 430 horsepower is nothing less than a milestone in modern engineering. And that’s how we see the 2013 Grand Sport — a milestone.
With features such as its dry-sump oil system, wide body stance and fine-tuned power-to-weight ratio, Grand Sport is more than a luxury sports car. It’s a force unlike anything you’ve felt before.
Suspension dialed to perfection.
The available Magnetic Selective Ride Control™ stiffens suspension capability for twisty roads while providing a more compliant ride for city driving and freeways. Here’s how it works. An electromagnetic coil resides inside each damper piston. When an electrical current is applied — variably controlled by a microprocessor — ferrous particles in the shock fluid instantly bond, making the fluid more flow resistant, effectively stiffening the shock’s damping. Conversely, when the electromagnetic field is reduced, the fluid flows more freely, allowing easier suspension movement. There are two cockpit settings: Tour and Sport. Also, enjoy Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar Gen 2 tires when combined with the standard manual transmission.
Launch control — power straight to pavement.
Put the pedal to the mat and let launch control take care of the rest. When there’s this much power, launch control is the perfect middleman between you and sheer bliss. Standard with the short-throw 6-speed manual gearbox, it modulates engine rpm in competitive mode to lay the power down more smoothly while providing consistent acceleration times on the test track. It’s a feature for those who like to compete in club-sanctioned closed-course track events, but may just tempt others to start.
Athletic exterior design.
In Grand Sport, you’ll recognize the competitive and athletic look immediately. We don’t just talk racing inspiration, we show it off. You’ll see it in the wide and aggressive stance, flared body style, and other design cues that nod directly to racing. It’s design that’s both pleasurable and purposeful, as in the dual front-wheel air vents unique to Grand Sport, allowing for brake cooling yet giving Grand Sport a bold, chiseled appearance and echoed in its badging as well as optional Black Grand Sport Fender badging.
Classically Aggressive Exterior.
Rounded fenders and a lean, grounded body frame are classic Corvette design elements that have been the foundation of its exterior design for 60 years. It’s what makes a Corvette unmistakable and irresistible. Honor the Corvette heritage with the 60th Anniversary Design Package, which boasts an Arctic White exterior and a Blue Diamond leather-wrapped interior with sueded microfiber accents.
Make the world your interior with the standard removable roof panel, or the available transparent roof panel. It’s easy to handle and stores quickly and conveniently in the rear cargo area, snapping in place while leaving space for additional items. Opt for the available Dual Roof Package to enjoy both solid and transparent roofs panels, because you never know what mood you’ll be in.
Individuality is a trademark of both Corvette and Corvette owners. And now more than ever, owners can personalize their 2013 Corvette by selecting the available brake caliper color of their choice on Grand Sport's larger cross-drilled brakes – available in dark gray metallic, red, silver and yellow. Owners also have the option to select headlamp colors, available in cyber gray, silver or black. This, along with extensive dealer-installed Genuine Corvette Accessories, can make your Corvette Grand Sport coupe unique, like you.
The Grand Sport interior emphasizes greater driving support and comfort from its upgraded seat design to its padded center console and armrests. Seats include larger bolsters on the seatback and cushion areas for increased support and comfort, especially in high-performance driving.
Optional sueded microfiber seat inserts complement the design even further, as does the steering wheel featuring model-specific badges, streamlined switch trim, wrapped spokes, ergonomic hand placement and thumb grips.
No detail was overlooked in order to create the most luxurious Corvette interior to date such as the available nine-speaker Bose® Premium Sound System including instrument panel tweeters and enhanced bass speakers in each door. Softening the interior are the padded center console and armrests, while the added visual touch of contrasting color stitching — in red, blue and yellow — is available with the Custom Leather-Wrapped Interior Package on the 4LT trim level.
Technology for your comfort and convenience.
Grand Sport also includes modern technology features that keep you connected to your life. For even more convenience, the Technology Package standard on the reconfigured 2LT brings together many of the most popular infotainment features such as navigation radio, head-up display, Bose® premium audio system, SiriusXM Satellite Radio services for one year, Bluetooth® wireless technology for select phones and a USB port.
Keep important reading within sight with your eyes focused safely on the road ahead of you while driving with the optional Head-Up Display, including g-force meter. Utilizing proven technology, the display appears as if hovering above the front bumper to make it easier to read while driving. For differing driving styles, the display includes two modes, track and street, and also includes helpful Turn-by-Turn Navigation through the navigation system.
Composite body panels.
Technology is an all-inclusive feature in Corvette, down to every detail. Composite body panels used to form the exterior are stronger and lighter than other materials and help reduce the vehicle’s overall weight, and seriously increase potential. The panels never rust, which keeps your Corvette looking timeless.
Low-mass materials, such as an aluminum cockpit structure, lightweight composite body panels, balsa wood floor panel and an aluminum engine block and cylinder head, reduce engine workload and contribute to better fuel economy.
A six-speed transmission allows the engine to operate at a lower rate of speed as compared to transmissions with fewer gears, which results in better fuel economy. Transmissions employ shift management technologies when maximum engine power is not required. When these technologies engage, engine workload is reduced, which contributes to better fuel economy. Manual transmission has skip shift technology (1st to 4th). Automatic transmission has 2nd gear start.
The engine has been factory-filled with engine oil meeting GM's new dexos™ specification, which has improved viscosity characteristics as compared to the previous GF-4 oil, contributing to better fuel economy.
