Universal Type.
The Universal Model A car manufactured at Washington, PA and sold for $475 by a company with the corporate name of "Universal Motor Company," with an authorized capital of $1,000,000.
Universal Type.
At last, a car has appeared within reach of the multitude-inuversally demanded and to be universally used. Never before has anything in the motor world been manufactured creating such a sensation.
The factory at Washington is new, having been built and equipped in the year 1912, and has heretofore been used for the manufacture of motor cars. It is modern in every respect, and ample in extent and character for a very large output. The location is excellent for accessibility and shipping, having switch on the premises and free interchange of traffic between the B&0 and Pennsylvania railways.
Washington is in the gas and coal belt; possessing, therefore, unusually cheap coal, gas and power. There is an abundant supply of efficient labor.
The Company will concentrate its energies upon producing and distributing a small automobile, to supply a market hitherto largely untouched and of enormous possibilities. The Company will market one style of body only the first season. The second year, touring and coupe bodies, using the same chassis. This product should in no sense be identified with the so-called "Cycle Cars," it being a complete, though small, automobile, embodying nearly every feature found in cars priced from $1,000 to $1,500. Its character is evidenced by the specifications.
Note simplicity and accessibility are the dominant features, backed by sturdiness of every unit entering into its construction.
