In the Summer of 2006, an environmentally-oriented Green Line was launched with the Saturn VUE model. Officially, the Green Line is the 2007 Saturn Vue Green Line, the first vehicle GM's third hybrid system will propel.

The 2007 Green Line's "belt alternator starter" system improves fuel economy 20 percent, Saturn says. GM expects the Green Line's EPA ratings to be 27 mpg in the city cycle and 32 on the highway. At 32 mpg, the Green Line is the highest-highway-mileage SUV available, and adds just $2,000 to the base vehicle's price.
