Wilhelm Gutbrod owned the German Standard Fahrzeugfabrik which manufactured Standard Superior small cars from 1933-1935.

These were designed by Josef Ganz and featured rear-mounted two-stroke engines. The company continued operations from 1949-1954 but the cars carried the name Gutbrod and had front-mounted engines.
