Customize every drive with multi-mode transmission.
BMW 6-speed sport auto transmission enjoys not just the versatility
of multiple driving modes, but the effectiveness of innovative
enhancements. Paddle shifters make for controlled, smoother shifts and enhanced response time, while throttle blips on downshifts improve stability when decelerating. On the whole, fuel consumption is down, and efficiency is up.

3 Modes.
• Manual – Hands-on control without using a clutch pedal
• Sport – Provides for a more exhilarating ride
• Auto – Uses BMW’s convenient automatic adaptive transmission

Introducing the world’s first Dynamic Performance Control system.
How it works
Fusing with xDrive, BMW’s intelligent all-wheel-drive system, Dynamic Performance Control allows for new directional stability and precision in all conditions by varying power between the two rear wheels to improve control and pulling force on different surfaces. Dynamic Performance Control works even when not accelerating, for example, around corners. This makes for quicker turns and improved handling for more controlled performance overall.

Allows for increased.
• Agility
• Safety
• Traction on different surfaces
• Performance

Typical sports utility vehicles aren’t aerodynamic. Good thing we don’t make typical vehicles.
With a wind-ready roof spoiler, rear lights integrated into an aerodynamic body, large air intakes with wide-set positioning, and electronically-controlled cooling flaps located behind the kidney grille, the all-new BMW X6 is effortlessly aerodynamic.

• CO2 emissions are down
• Greater control at higher speeds
• Improved safety and agility
• Improved engine and brake cooling
• Reduced air drag (drag coefficient is .37)

Stop and stare.
Lightweight brake discs reduce un-sprung weight to make each drive as safe as it is agile. In addition, newly developed lightweight brakes are built with floating aluminum calipers to guarantee superior resistance to fading and maximize brake comfort on the X6 xDrive50i.

The X6 brakes system comes standard with ABS anti-lock brakes, Automatic Stability Control, Trailer Stability Control, Hill Descent Control, Dynamic Brake Control, Cornering Brake Control, and Active Cruise Control.

Brake Specs.
X6 xDrive50i
• Front rotor size: 14.4 x 1.4 inches
• Rear rotor size: 13.6 x 0.9 inches

• Front rotor size: 13.7x 1.2 inches
• Rear rotor size: 13.6x 0.9 inches

No road is off-limits.
BMW Adaptive Drive fuses Active Roll Stabilization (ARS) and Electronic Damping Control (EDC) to create superior driving
stability. Each corner is different, and likewise ARS compensates in equally variable ways, thus creating a customized opposition to body roll and increased safety.

Similarly, Electronic Damping Control adjusts the shock absorbers based upon changes in vehicle speed, load, or road and driving conditions. With customizable suspension, your X6 is ready to tailor itself to each drive you take.

• Maximum safety and agility
• Reduced roll angle
• Reduced steering angle
• Two modes: Normal and Sport

All-wheel drive for all-terrain driving.
Delivering variable power over front and rear axles, xDrive, BMW’s intelligent all-wheel-drive system, delivers improved driving dynamics, stability, agility, traction, and grip. Combined with the first-ever Dynamic Performance Control, the X6 is covered rain or shine, wind or snow, Route 66 or rocky mountainside road.

When bumpy roads make for smooth rides.
The all-new X6 comes with incredible driving dynamics, providing an effortlessly comfortable ride. Even on long trips, balanced straight-line running makes for improved safety and easier driving.

Technically, the X6 suspension system applies the double transverse link suspension with double joint principle. This allows dynamic lateral acceleration, superior tracking stability, and a minimization of forces acting on the steering wheel. To the driver, this provides greater confidence in accident avoidance—a true test of a vehicle’s dexterity.

Be nimble. Be quick.
BMW Active Steering varies the steering ratio for different speeds to allow for precise control at every speed. At low speeds, the system makes your vehicle nimble around corners, while at high speeds and in rain or snow, it provides greater precision and stability. Plus, though the X6 keeps you in control, it does so without ever sacrificing the authentic feel of pure sport driving.

Meet your dashboard concierge.
BMW Assist™ (optional) fuses Real Time Traffic Information with navigation information, automatic collision notification, emergency assistance and response, and a general resource operator to give you all the help you need at the click of a button. Plus, now with the world’s first-ever Google-enabled Send-to-Car feature, you can download directions remotely to your vehicle’s navigation system.

Keep your eyes on the road.
BMW’s optional Head-Up Display projects navigation and speed onto your front windshield within the driver’s field of view to keep your eyes forward at all times without distraction.

Round, even when they’re flat.
BMW Run-Flat Tires are designed with self-supporting integrated reinforcements to allow tires with air pressure loss to maintain their shape and full use, keeping you from stopping to change a tire for many miles. To enhance the effectiveness of the Run-Flat technology, the X6 suspension is also tuned to deliver smooth rides. Run-Flat Tires will drive up to 150 miles at 50 mph when flat.

Allow us to help you park.
With the rearview camera, parking was never so easy or so safe. The system displays an interactive track line on the color video screen at the center of the X6 console. In addition, the Park Distance Control system sounds a warning alarm when obstacles and other vehicles are encountered, keeping you and your vehicle from potential harm.

Checking the weather: optional.
Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) combines traction control, braking, and cornering stabilization to give you the safest footing possible in any situation. In situations of slick spots, nasty weather and emergency maneuvers, DSC instantly detects and corrects loss of wheel traction.

DSC sensors monitor.
• Cornering-steering angle
• Transverse acceleration
• Yaw
• Wheel speed
• Brake pressure

Meet the coupe that met the SAV.
Coupe-inspired rooflines and C pillars shaped in a downward, sporty manner aren’t ordinarily found on Sports Activity Vehicles. Then again, high body positions aren’t normally seen on racecar-inspired coupes. Good thing, the X6 is neither ordinary nor normal. In style as in performance, the first-ever Sports Activity Coupe is nothing short of boundary-breaking innovation.

Outfitted to outperform.
The X6 xDrive50i Sports Package Option includes enhancements to both performance and style.

Wheel options include 19" wheels with all-season tires (Style 258) or 20" wheels with performance tires (Style 259), pictured to the right. Additional performance enhancements include the Adaptive Drive system and an increased top speed limiter.

Interior premiums include anthracite headliner and the choice between sport seats and multi-contour seats. The exterior premium for the X6 is shadowline trim.

Interior design isn’t just for the home.
The X6 interior blends a sporty cockpit with premium details to make this vehicle as luxuriously styled inside as it is powerfully equipped outside. Knee pads are positioned along the center console to offer the driver and passenger added stability in athletic maneuvers and off-roading adventures. The high body position and rear headroom provide comfort for taller passengers and convey its X-model heritage.

Room for his luggage. And hers. And his. And hers.

With 25.6 cubic feet of trunk storage and a massive 59.7 cubic feet of seat-down storage, the X6 boasts incredible room. More than the Porsche Cayenne with the rear seats upright, the space comfortably fits everything you’d ever want from a weekend’s worth of camping equipment to golf bags for you and three friends.

Front- and back-seat entertainment.
The X6 comes with available 6-disc front screen DVD player and individual rear screen player, both equipped to play audio, video, photo DVDs, and CDs. Additional capabilities include ports for two cable or infrared headphones.

Adaptability Darwin would envy.
The X6 offers an optional multimedia USB adapter port to give drivers an easy connection to their iPhone, iPod or other MP3 devices, all of which are playable through iDrive. For iPod users you can skip tracks, access up to five playlists and adjust the volume, all through the car’s steering wheel controls and/or iDrive controller.

When was the last time “16-speaker HD Surround Sound” referred to a car?
The optional X6 Logic7 Sound System comes complete with an available 16 speakers producing 600 watts of power, along with better spatial sound, multi-channel audio, and an overall outstanding reproduction quality. In addition, real-time equalizing means each individual seat can receive the ideal mix.

Optional HD radio technology comes with crystal-clear digital sound, noise-free reception, both analog and digital formats, and streaming artist and song information, where radio stations have made content available. HD Radio provides you with one or more multicast HD stations for each traditional one offered.

Up-to-the-minute traffic reports.
Real Time Traffic Information streams to the X6 through its navigation system, affording drivers the luxury of on-screen traffic reports, updated by the minute.

Google maps travel from your PC to your X6.
BMW’s partnership with Google allows X6 drivers with a BMW Assist account to save time by finding a route to a destination prior to a journey, and send the map to the vehicle from the computer. Destinations and contact details can be stored in the X6 for future use.
