When launching the program at the 2002 SEMA show with the announcement of a performance kit for the Acura RSX Type-S, Acura called the program Acura Factory Performance.
The name change was made to brand Acura's program and differentiate it from Honda Factory Performance, a similar program for Honda vehicles.
Horizontal Acura logo. Acura launched for 1986 without a logo and the "calipers" didn't appear until the NSX launched as a 1991 model.
