quattro GmbH.
For more than 25 years now, quattro GmbH has stood for a very individual lifestyle under the sign of the four rings, and has given the Audi “Vorsprung durch Technik” a special element of sports appeal, individuality and exclusive character.

One of the most famous AUDI AG brand names made its debut in 1980: the Audi quattro. This high-performance coupé not only took the rally scene by storm with its permanent all-wheel drive, but also added lasting substance to the Audi “Vorsprung durch Technik” brand claim. The extraordinary quality of the new drive technology quickly transformed the term “quattro” into more than just a technical designation: quattro developed into a trademark and has adorned the name of Audi’s ambitious subsidiary since 1983.

Extremely sporty and exclusive Audi vehicles, equipment packages and accessories still bear the signature of Neckarsulm-based quattro GmbH today.

quattro GmbH continued to successfully grow its business in the field of high-performance models and vehicle customization in 2010, posting the highest sales figures in it is history. The Audi subsidiary’s highly emotional and sporty models, such as the R8 and the RS models, played a major role here.

quattro GmbH turns the Audi TT RS into an all-round performer with the S tronic transmission. The new dual-clutch transmission takes dynamics, comfort and efficiency to new heights. The new seven-speed S tronic easily transfers the 450 Nm (331.90 lb-ft) of torque generated by the powerful five-cylinder turbo to the road.

With its high-revving, 4.2-liter V8 generating a brawny 331 kW (450 hp), the Audi RS 5 has established itself very successfully in the market. The Audi RS model sets accents with both its interior and exterior design. The xenon plus headlights with LED daytime driving lights, the LED tail lights, the flared wheel wells front and rear and the side extensions give the Audi RS5 a distinctly sporty look. Carbon inlays or the optional Bang & Olufsen sound system lend the interior an air of exclusivity.

quattro GmbH closed out the Audi RS 6 line with the RS 6 plus, whose production was limited to 500 vehicles. The 580-hp Audi RS 6 is the most powerful Audi ever built and yet another successful model in quattro GmbH’s RS line.

Last year also saw a focus on the expansion of the Audi R8 family. The V10-powered Audi R8 Spyder celebrated its debut as a style icon and the embodiment of emotional and progressive Audi design. The sports car is built more than 80 percent by hand at the quattro GmbH manufacturing plant on the Neckarsulm site.

The Audi subsidiary presented lightweight design in its purest form with the Audi R8 GT, a limited edition of the Audi R8 high-performance sports car. The output of its 5.2-liter V10 has been increased to 412 kW (560 hp); vehicle weight has been reduced by roughly 100 kilograms (220.46 lb).

Audi is also paving the way for the mobility of the future. Because of its competence in small series production and the construction of high-performance sports cars, quattro GmbH will soon build the first Audi e-tron models, which are based on Audi R8 technology, in a production shop. A small production series of the first purely electric Audi will hit the streets in late 2012.

The Audi R8 LMS, a GT3 sports car for customer racing, is also hand-built at quattro GmbH. The customer racing sports car has demonstrated the potential of its technology with 65 wins and five championships in just 24 months. quattro GmbH has built and delivered 35 Audi R8 LMS models to customers since 2009.

Besides the Audi R8 and Audi RS models, quattro GmbH also offers Audi exclusive and Audi design accessories. More and more customers are putting their personal signature on their Audis with custom interior and exterior equipment from Audi exclusive or Audi exclusive line predefined packages. Full-leather packages and custom paint finishes were popular. The Audi subsidiary expanded the customization program for the Audi A1, Audi A7 and Audi A8 models in 2010.

Exclusive, high-end accessories and miniature model vehicles were also part of quattro GmbH’s core business last year. The Audi collection consists of products made with impressive attention to detail and to exclusive design and technical standards.

quattro GmbH currently employs 689 people, 319 of them in areas directly related to production, logistics or quality assurance. Administration, Development and Production are located at the Neckarsulm site. Purchasing, Sales and Marketing are located in Ingolstadt.

In 2011, quattro GmbH is concentrating on the market introduction of the Audi RS 3 Sportback. The compact RS model based on the Audi A3 Sportback features a five-cylinder turbocharged engine that generates 250 kW (340 hp) from a displacement of 2.5 liters and delivers 450 Nm (331.90 lb-ft) of torque to the road.
