Following the successful appearances at the European Auto Shows last year in Geneva, and this year in Frankfurt, DOK-ING presented the first Croatian electric car on another continent. Conceptual XD was shown at the renowned LA Convention centre during the Los Angeles Auto Show from 16th to 27th November 2011.

The refreshed XD design presented to the American market showed those familiar attractive features that place this vehicle in the electric city cars luxury class. Despite the fact that such class has yet to be firmly defined, even on the market that strongly encourages the usage of ecologically acceptable cars, there is no doubt that XD has captivated not only the Californian, but also the American public in general by its appearance and main characteristics. As an electric car with original compact sports car performance, XD reaches the 100 km/h speed in 7.7 seconds with two engines, or 4.2 seconds with four motors setting up a new scope in the city car class. The LA Auto Show saw an improved interior, as well as a completely new computer controlled interface. When it comes to materials for the specific parts, in addition to the carbon basics there are also some new precious metals details.

XD’s motto "Driving First Class" got an exceptional reception at the LA Auto Show. During the two press and ten open public days numerous visitors took the advantage of having a good look at the car and learning more about the unique Y seats design, two and four engine drives, driving speed and the charging methods of the lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO 4) batteries, not to mention the special Dok-Ing innovative battery and drive engine operational systems.

According to Mr Vjekoslav Majetić’s words, who was there for the whole duration of the Show, the word “Croatia” was uttered several thousand times almost always accompanied by „awesome“. It was rather enjoyable to share the exhibition space together with Aston Martin, Bentley, Lotus, Morgan, Mastretta and Rolls-Royce, but what was even more satisfying was the enormous interest of the professional and wide audience for our product. Numerous questions referred to the development and the solutions within the XD. The design of the car was widely admired and accepted, and there is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that our electric car with its presented performances met with the exceptional approval.

Following the completion of all testing and homologation, XD will be completely ready to go to market, and the first specimens are to be made on individual orders. With a limited serial production in mind, there is no intention of closing doors to any form of future cooperation, and DOK-ING is still engaged in the talks with potential strategic partners.
