"Doriot-Flandrin" was founded in 1906 in Courbevoie by Auguste Doriot and Ludovic Flandrin, who came from Peugeot and Clément-Bayard.

In 1908, they were joined by Alexandre and Jules-René Parant with whom they founded "Doriot, Flandrin & Parant (D.F.P.)" and manufactured and marketed cars with "Chapuis-Dornier" engines.

In 1912 D.F.P. began manufacturing its own engines. In 1926, the factory was sold to the car manufacturer Lafitte, which in turn closed in 1928.
